Tamar

Tamar

This week on "Wonderful World of Etsy" I bring you the beautiful work of Tamar of Nest Pretty Things. After graduating from Parsons School of Design in NYC she worked as a Creative Director, Style Editor and Photo Stylist for women's magazines. Five years ago she and her family of five moved away from the big city life to a small rural village in the beautiful Lake Champlain valley in Vermont where she started her dream of living in the country and having our own home business. Well, I am so glad she did because her work is just so beautiful!

My laundry wire baskets

Wire baskets for my Laundry room
Basket of dusters
Basket of cleaning sponges
Baskets of cleaning cloths, dusters and towels
Pretty storage baskets

I have been loving the wire basket look for a while now and treasure my vintage duck egg blue basket I have had for years. So, when on a recent work trip to HK with my day job I spied the white wire baskets in Jusco (HK's version of a pound/dollar store) and I immediately bought four. Now I am wishing I had bought more as they were so cheap!

As my dusters, sponges and cloths are in an array of pretty colours and prints it seemed a shame to hide them in a cupboard so I have filled my wire baskets with them and will be placing the wire baskets on open shelves above my washing machine.

Laundry wire baskets

Laundry wire baskets

Today in my series of posts "Inspirational Pins", I bring you some wire baskets. I am loving this look and seem to keep seeing it, both for the laundry room and office. I recently bought four small wire baskets in white for my laundry room - more on this coming later.

Hotel Chocolat Goody Bag Of The Season review

Hotel Chocolat Goody Bag Of The Season
Goody Bag
Dizzy Pralines
Gemstones
Eton Mess chocolate

I was recently asked to review some chocolate from Hotel Chocolat. Of course, I jumped at the chance! I was so excited on opening the package to find a Goody Bag Of The Season. I tore open the bag to take a closer look. Inside I found a pretty pink strawberry and white chocolate Eton Mess Slab with meringue and strawberry chunks jutting out from the top. Unfortunately, as it contained gluten I had to put it to one side to give to my elder sister, along with the six Billionaire Shortbread chocolates for the same reason. Also inside were six Dizzy pralines, a hard milk chocolate case swirled with white chocolate and filled with a creamy praline centre; these were absolutely delicious. The Smiley Chocolate Lick, a thick chocolate lollipop on a chic black stick, was also really good. The Chocolate Gemstones, little white and dark chocolate infused chocolate beans, melted on my tongue.

Here's what my sister and her family thought of the chocolates.
"We all liked the billionaire shortbread. More of a hit with the ladies. My only criticism was I think the biscuit could have been lighter. We all loved the Eton Mess. Looked great and everyone was excited to try it. The tangy strawberries were gorgeous!!

I loved the Hotel Chocolat Goody Bag Of The Season and think it would make a great gift or great treat!"

Welcome to my new series of posts, Friday Feature. This week I am sharing with you the delightful work of stylist, Marie Nichols. After Marie completed her photography degree she discovered her dream job was interior styling. After working at Ideal Home magazine for six years, she left her job of deputy style editor and moved to Sydney where she freelanced for various home magazines.

I love her pretty, whimsical style with touches of glamour, more of which you can see in her portfolio and her blog, Whole lotta lovely, which is full of adorable inspiration.

Happy Friday, sweets!
