Hello Sweets!

Samuel & James

Hello sweets! I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

It seems like ages since I properly checked in on all of you. I have been so busy of late working on my book that is due to be published at the beginning of 2014, helping my little sister out with her wedding preparations and a whole heap of projects that annoyingly I can't tell you about, yet!

I still have a ton of bits left to do on my book and some final preparations for my little sisters wedding amongst other things, so I apologise in advance if I am late on replying to your emails and comments. But know that I appreciate you all and I will endeavour to get back to you as soon as I can, hopefully with lots of exciting news!

In the meantime I will be sharing how I made my nephew Samuel's wigwam, floor quilt and deckchair slings. A few yummy recipes, a couple of crafty projects and a whole heap of pretty organizing ideas.

Have a sweet day!

Making the switch to Bloglovin

"Earlier this week Google announced it was to withdraw its Google Reader service due to declining interest in the RSS content aggregator.

The Keep Google Reader Running petition on Change.org generated more than 400,000 page views since Wednesday.
At least eight related petitions have been started on the site since Wednesday, several of which also have thousands of signatures.
“People were clearly shocked and dismayed about Google’s decision, and they came to Change.org to make their voices heard.” said Charlotte Hill, a spokesperson for the website.
Google made the announcement in its company blog, saying: "There are two simple reasons for this: usage of Google Reader has declined, and as a company we are pouring all of our energy into fewer products,"

Still catching up...

On Christmas Eve last year I got a lovely gift through my post box. The November edition of Magie des Zuckers, a German cake decorating magazine. To my delight, my Winter Woodland Christmas dessert table was on pages 4,5,6 & 7 and another double spread at the back of the magazine included some of my recipes from the aforementioned dessert table. My proud Mum kindly got one of her German friends to translate it for me and I blushed at the beautiful write up of my "magical", "doesn't leave anything to be desired", "dreamy" Winter Wonderland table. What an honour! Thank you Magie des Zuckers magazine for the fabulous feature!

2010, My Autumn & Winter Months

Afternoon sweets!

I thought I would share with you some of my highlights of 2010 here on Torie Jayne. Here are my favourites from the Autumn and Winter of 2010:

My Garden Lounge by Torie Jayne
In September I finally finished my garden. I am so looking forward to enjoying it this year. I envision lots of tea, cake and ice cream soirees in my garden lounge!

The Conran Shop

I was also one of ten blogs picked to be a "favourite blog of The Conran Shop". Thank you.

Halloween Treats by Torie Jayne
In October, Halloween was pretty low key for me this year as I was traveling with my day job. However, I did make and decorate a Halloween cake and tried my hand at Candy apples.

Winter Woodland Christmas inspiration by Torie Jayne
November saw me prepare for my Winter Woodland Christmas with lots of lovely inspiration in Scrapbook Dreams.

Winter Woodland dessert table by Torie Jayne
December, of course, saw me put my dreams and ideas into action with my Winter Woodland dessert table. I was overjoyed when my cake won the Christmas Yule - Blog bake.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my wonderful sponsors: Simon at Tonic Studios for sending me an endless supply of cool craft equipment. Anurag at Hotel Chocolat for providing lots of yummy chocolate. Sarah at lifestyle publishers Ryland Peters and Small for providing me with gorgeous craft, interior and baking books to review. Clare and Alex at Camel and Yak for my beautiful Christmas deers and Amy at we are social for her cool link ups.

Also a big thanks to Liam McCormick, a wonderful guest at my Winter Woodland Christmas party who took some of the photos.

Have a sweet day!

2010, My Summer Months

Afternoon sweets!

I thought I would share with you some of my highlights of 2010 here on Torie Jayne. Here are my favourites from the Summer of 2010:

Kitchen Ideas by Torie Jayne
May was spent researching ideas for my new kitchen, which I promise I will be sharing here soon!

Pinterest by Torie Jayne
I joined Pinterest in June. I adore it as it is such an easy way to share, store and categorize all the gorgeous images you find on the internet. I hope to share more of my pins with you in 2011 with my new "Inspirational Pins" mood boards.

Gardens by Torie Jayne
July was spent poring over gorgeous garden pictures in my Scrapbook dreams and visiting the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.

Molly's Birthday by Torie Jayne
In August we celebrated my adorable niece Molly's birthday. I hand painted a jungle bench for her and made a matching jungle birthday cake.

Vintage at Goodwood by Torie Jayne
I also fell in love with Vintage at Goodwood and the best bit is it returns this year on August 12, 13, and 14th. My top must for 2011!

Thank you my friends for reading and commenting, this blog wouldn't be anything without you!

My 2010 from the beginning

Evening sweets!

I thought I would share with you some of my personal highlights of 2010 here on Torie Jayne.

Here's what I got up to from the beginning of 2010:

Danish Interiors by Torie Jayne
January's highlight was visiting Copenhagen for my birthday. I got to see and purchase a few of my favourite pieces from the Danish interior designers and brands I had blogged about in the weeks before.

Butterfly themed tea and cakes by Torie Jayne
February's highlight was the Christening of my adorable niece, Molly, which we celebrated with a butterfly themed tea and cake party.

Easter Table by Torie Jayne
March's highlight was getting ready for Easter. Oh, how I love decorating and making dessert tables for the holidays!

Woodland themed party by Torie Jayne
April's highlight was organizing a woodland themed baby shower! I love decorating gingerbread bird houses.

Thank you my friends for reading and commenting over the past year, as this blog wouldn't be anything without you! Know that you are all beautiful, special friends to me and I feel blessed to have you touch my life.

I will be kicking off 2011 on Sunday, 9th January by announcing the winner of the Hotel Chocolat giveaway which closes next Saturday, 8th January. So until then I will be writing about my hopes and dreams for my blog and planning my year ahead.

Have a sweet 2011!
